Patna-bound Rajdhani Express avoids fatal mishap

Saturday, March 21 : A major accident was averted in the wee hours of Saturday morning, when the Patna-bound Rajdhani Express came to a sudden halt after pantry car of the train caught fire near the Karman Station in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh.
The incident, which happened at around 3:30 a.m. due to a short circuit in the pantry has led to a disruption of the train services on the Mugalsarai-Patna route.
The pantry coach has been completely burnt. However, passengers have escaped unarmed.
Meanwhile, railway authorities have ordered an investigation into the incident.(ANI)

Lahore Mar 03, 2009: It was not just the notorious former ISI chief, Hamid Gul, who talked about Indian involvement in the terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team.
Lahore Commissioner Khushro Pervaiz also was quoted as saying that the Indian involvement could not be ruled out.
Gen (retired) Hameed Gul, a former chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had earlier told Geo News that India wanted to declare Pakistan a terrorist state and the firing on the Sri Lankan team was related to that conspiracy by India to try to weaken PakistanFor its part, India's foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee said in New Delhi: "The terrorism infrastructure facilities available in Pakistan must be completely dismantled and the perpetrators (of the attacks) brought to justice, otherwise perpetration of these types of incidents will take place."I request the Pakistani authorities not to divert the attention of the international community, but to take courage in both hands and dismantle the terrorism infrastructure and take stiff measures against the perpetrators. Only then will such issues be adequately addressed."

Pak troops fire at Indian posts
The Pakistani troops fired throughout the night at Indian posts in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, leaving a soldier injured, violating the ceasefire.
A defence spokesman said today that Pakistani troops fired between 1500 to 2000 rounds at the Indian posts in Kamalkote area of Uri sector between 10:p.m last night and 3:a.m this morning. He said the firing from across the border was unprovoked.
Lance Naik Prakash Singh of 10 JAK rifles was injured in the firing.
Indian troops returned the fire but used small arms fire, the spokesman said. India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire on the borders of the two countries in 2003.
